Schools in the Netherlands: design concepts for the community schools

Why the talk is inspiring?

The lecture will focus on the concepts of the community schools in the Netherlands. As such typological phenomenon relatively new in Lithuania, the Dutch experience will be relevant and inspiring. The main de-sign concepts, illustrated by concrete examples will demonstrate how children education and community needs can fit in a single architectural structure.

The conversation is arranged in collaboration with VGTU Faculty of Architecture.

The talk is held on Thursday, 8.00 p.m. at the National Art Gallery (NDG), Konstitucijos av. 22, Vilnius.

How the speaker is exceptional?

Architectural historian is great expert in the history of the Dutch Avant-garde architecture and school architecture in the Netherlands. The last decade he is especially active in research of alteration and transformations of the educational architecture. He is lecturing, research tutoring in TU Delft, making publications and executing other projects.
