The architect goes exploring
Why the talk is inspiring?
Once the environment is seen from beyond the human perspective, architecture becomes an experiment. The architect becomes a researcher, taking a closer look at materials and ecological systems. What can we learn from these layers of the world around us? How can we create spaces by integrating alternative materials and forms? How does experimentation enrich our understanding of architecture?
Talks will take place at the National Art Gallery (NDG), Konstitucijos pr. 22, Vilnius. The talks will start at 8.00 p.m. and will be held in Lithuanian.

How the speaker is exceptional?
Speakers:
Tomas Valentinaitis is an interdisciplinary architect-urbanist, who researches creative processes, interspecies communication, principles of sustainability, and has a keen interest in architectural research. Tomas works on architectural and technological concepts, social provocations, sound art and poetry.
Mantas Petraitis is a practising architect and a researcher. The DNA of his practice is the search for technical and cultural sustainability.
Moderator:
Justinas Dūdėnas is an architect who, after studying semiotics, works in the field of exhibition architecture. He is the creator behind the Architecture Foundation “Aikštėje” projects and the author of the “Žmogus ir miestas“ radio show series.

Why? Because utopias and science fiction are a genre for imagining the future: what it could be, the futures we can strive for, and the ones we fear. Cory Doctorow is a brilliant technology critic and political activist. I have not yet read this book, rather I am creating the conditions for it, as this recommendation will decide the future of one copy of Walkaway at the NDG Reading Room.
